2014 Resolutions

Observant Nomad | 2014 Resolutions

The best part about ringing in a new year is the feeling of starting fresh. At the stroke of 12, during my annual countdown, I let a sensation of possibilities flood over me.

I love that feeling of a clean slate, new beginning, and the whole new year ahead of me. And, this year I had a pretty good idea of what I want to accomplish.

1. Take more photos
I got a DSLR last year and was super excited about it, but honestly, besides traveling I haven’t really done very much photography this year. I’d love to get more comfortable taking photos and of course getting better at it. Especially taking photos of everyday life.

2. Get more involved
Hobbies are a great way to add diversity and fulfillment to your life, and I feel like this year between all the freelance and obstacles I’ve lost some of the fun. I need to get more involved in my hobbies like cooking, reading, fitness, and art.

3. Re-design my portfolio
This is one of those little things. I kinda feel into freelancing really quickly and didn’t have a real prepared plan. It would be nice to put the time and attention into my personal business that it deserves.

4. Travel more
Everyone probably says this every year. Who wouldn’t love to get away more? I traveled just a little bit this year, but it’s been far too long since I’ve gone on an international trip. So besides traveling stateside more, I’ll also be shooting to go somewhere far for a bit.

I love hearing everyone’s resolutions so tell me some of yours!

Good luck with your resolutions! I think everyone wants to do more photography this year! :)

Travel more is definitely on my list and I’ve already started to make arrangements. I figure the only way to make sure this happens is to make the plans first and ask questions later.

I love your resolutions! I didn’t really set resolutions, but I think one of them would be to focus on living. I think we often can get caught up in blogging and business and forget how important it is to have a life outside of each of those.

My resolution is to evolve – one step – and one phase – at a time.

Printed mine out to take to my new job! Love it!

Eeee these are great! I would love to take some photos together and I think we should try and do some girls traveling!!!
