weekend snapshots spicy and 5280

This weekend was one not to miss. It was 60 degrees and sunny here in Denver – I wanted to go outside, ride my bike, visit a cafe, and run around the lake. Instead I was indoors all weekend working on projects and hustlin. Le sigh.

So I spent my free moments daydreaming about last weekend when my best friend and I had brunch and I enjoyed my first Bloody Mary. I know, most people find it hard to believe that I have never liked them (more so hated them) until recently. But like most liquor you have to build a taste for it, and I’m glad I did – yum!

The weekend kicked off another major holiday around here. An event called Denver Restaurant Week occurs every year here and us mountain-side foodies rejoice. We call it 5280 Week and every one of our favorite five star restaurants offer full course menus for $52.80 per couple.

It’s truly a great deal since nearly every restaurant participates and you can end up getting a $100+ meal for a fraction of the price. Yesterday we ate dinner at NoRTH with a couple friends and it was wonderful. I’m trying a few more restaurants this week and plan to give you the low down soon.
