Moodboard : Christmas in the Woods

moodboard : christmas in the woods | observant nomad

This Christmas I’d love to be a recluse. I’ve been super busy and yet very conflicted about a lot of things. I love this time of year for all it’s great parts, but this year has been harder than the rest. Tight budgets, friends far away, and stress of work deadlines. So you can imagine I’d love to scurry away into the woods and hide from work. I need some hermit time.

An isolated cabin sounds like the perfect solution. Remote, and secluded. It would have to be completely surrounded by fluffy white snow ready to be sled upon. It would be a perfect solo vacay, or even a magical thing to do with the future kids. Image a Christmas in the woods – full of sledding, playing games, laughing, watching movies, and snowshoeing. Heck we might even cut down our own Christmas tree.

I agree. This year I have been less than eager for the holiday season. Especially the Christmas parties and general busy-ness of this time of year. We have been without hot water the last two weeks and it’s made life all the more complicated. I have not been able to exercise as much as usual…which makes me more irritable, especially with eating more delicious (but heavy) food. I can already feel my pants are tighter than they should be. Blah.

I completely understand. I’m so sorry about your water sitch! Not working out also puts me in a funk. Sometimes I feel bad for not being in a total Christmas kind of mood, but then I bake some snickerdoodles and realize it’s not all bad. ;)
